Objectives: As cancer is one of the main health problems in the world and knowing that it is one of the non-classic effects related to vitamin D, the current narrative review aimed to verify the relevance of vitamin D has on the types of cancer. Methods: The bibliographic research was performed in data-bases Pubmed, Scopus and PEDro on June 16, 2020, using the keywords 鈥渧itamin D鈥, 鈥渃ancer鈥 and 鈥渘on-classic鈥. Only articles since the year 2000 were included. Thirty-one articles were analyzed relating vitamin D to colon/rectum cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, melanoma and other types of skin cancer, and gastric cancer. Results: All studies have shown a relationship between vitamin D and the incidence of cancer in the human body, however, there are peculiarities regarding the concentration levels in each organ. Even with conflicting results, in general, vitamin D has shown to be promise in the prevention of several types of cancer.</p> ER -
